Snooker controversy

BBC - Radio Five Live - Message Boards Ooooh....how exciting I hear you cry. Well actually I was watching last night's match between Peter Ebdon and Ronnie O'Sullivan and I thought it was great snooker. The only reason people are whining about it now is because Ebdon is seen as a bit too clever by Joe Public whereas Ronnie has taken over the people's champ tag previously hung like a noose around Jimmy White's neck.

Personally, Ebdon played well within the rules of the game but it wasnt Ronnie's game so he didnt like it. Too bad...hopefully ROS can learn from it and develop. Doesnt sound like he wants to though.

Hodgson maintains solid US form / Weekend roundup

BBC SPORT | Motorsport | Motorbikes I quite enjoyed watching the AMA Superbikes last night. Clearly Neil Hodgson is riding the wheels off an comparatively hopeless Ducati but he just can't compete with the Suzukis. Still it was a great race to watch.

Can't speak for the Grand Prix this weekend, though it has been a while since I saw result in F1 decided by as little as a fifth of a second. Nice to see Jenson Button back up towards the right end of the field. He must have been starting to wonder where his next podium finish was coming from.

I also saw the British Superbikes yesterday and two things come to mind about that. Firstly, exactly how out of sorts does Jeremy McWilliams look right now. Could be that these bikes are just too big for him to ride - a trip back to the 250s might help and would probably be of some benefit to Chaz Davies too. The other point was what a great job the organisers did of getting the meeting completed. So many incidents, flags, safety cars and whatever but they still got through the card. Nice work!

Should be a good weekend next week cos as I recall the Speedway GPs are back. British interest is well down this year however, but still Scott Nicholls is coming due for a win this year.

Risk taking at Imola

Legge shows the boys

GrandPrix.com > News Wonderful news from the USA. I'll be honest and say I'd never heard of Katherine Legge before but I bet we'll be hearing more about her in the future.

Great weekend of racing actually. Good Champ Car race albeit a bit spoiled for me by less than great commentary. Fantastic end to the Moto GP although Gibernau was robbed in my opinion. Looking forward to some fun racing this year.
