Stoddart plots F1 return in 2008

BBC SPORT Motorsport Formula One
Fantastic news. The character and passion that Paul Stoddart brought to Formula One was brilliant to see and it was a sad day for the sport when he left, although I accept many in the sport may not have shared those feelings. Personally, I'd love to see the Minardi name back with him again.

IndyCar Series
Dreadful news of a fatal crash in the warm-up to the Homestead IRL event. Ones thoughts can only go out to the family and connections when hearing news like this.

Fulham influenced ref - Mourinho

BBC SPORT Football Premiership
Is Mourinho having a laugh? What exactly were his players doing when they surrounded the ref when Gallas had just assaulted one of the Fulham players. I'm sure they weren't trying to "influence" him in any way. Mourinho - you're behaving like an idiot and everyone can see it except you.

Mick McCarthy sacked

Sports News Article Reuters.co.uk
Sad to see Mick get forced out but at the end of the day he just hadn't provided the results. Could be he wasn't given much money but there's several other Premiership managers who have got by on very little and he maybe just isn't one of them. Hope it doesn't mean he's the next England manager!

Robben is banned for four matches

BBC SPORT Football My Club Chelsea
Two words - ha! HA!
Nice to see a cheat get his comeuppance. The way he got Reina sent off against Liverpool a few weeks back was dreadful (although sadly diving is all too common in the sport these days of course).
