Indy 500 again

88th Indianapolis 500 And there's another one....who the heck is Marty Roth anyway....

Was a damn shame about both Hornish and Manning. Yes they'd made mistakes which is why they were in that position but they deserved a bit more luck than that.

Indy 500: Don't bother with 33 cars

88th Indianapolis 500 Tony George: I know you love to have 33 cars running but can you please make them 33 good cars AND drivers. I'm writing this with the race still in progresss (Get in there Dan Wheldon!!) but already two guys who seem to have qualified by result of having "Foyt" in their name have been in the wall. And also another slow bloke Greg Ray took out two really quick guys in Hornish and Manning. If they cant drive the damn cars get them out of there....

Schumi again

GrandPrix.com > European GP > Race Notes Another less than thrilling F1 GP today. Ok some the race was good. Watching Montoya make a mess of it into turn 1 was very funny and Sato once again attempting to mug a Ferrari driver was also good fun. The one great overtaking move that sticks in my mind was Button driving around the outside of Coulthard into turn 1 - great stuff.

European Speedway GP

Speedway GP Yet another great speedway GP and a new winner in Bjarne Pedersen. Fantastic to see someone other than the usual suspects win the race, and somehow also quite funny to not see a pole win it all. Although that said Jarek Hampel was amazing yet again, despite incurring the wrath of the crowd for forcing Tomasz Gollob off line and out of the GP. Really looking forward to watching Cardiff now. Gonna be great

Stupid F1

Planet F1 Great stuff for fans of silly F1 everywhere. No 4 is great but surely they forgot that classic moment from ooohh 1980something when Alain Prost fell off on the parade lap. In fact Mr Coulthard has done that at least once....and they say he cant take the pressure.....

Chris Louis - back in the big time

Ipswich Evening Star Great news for British speedway fans. Chris Louis will ride in Cardiff at the British GP. Excellent to see him riding so well back in the league this year and he must have an outside chance in the Millenium Stadium. With David Norris as the other wild card, and Nicholls, Loram and Richardson also looking to be ready to ride then we should have a great meeting. Now who wants to fly me there.....

Nicki vs Greg

Speedway GP Great Speedway GP on Saturday night. Crump back to form, a great second place for Jarek Hampel.

But highlight for the night just had to be heat 21. Not the bit where Pedersen stuffed Hancock into the air fence in a scary looking crash - it was probably just as well the TV director missed it first time...Nor the bit where the ref let Pedersen race rather than slinging him out the event altogether (what race was he watching????)

No, I mean the bit where Hancock returned the favour. I can honestly say I jumped out of my seat watching that. Justice would have been done if only Nicki had gone bouncing across the track in pain much as Greg did. But being soundly beaten and being reminded about all the way round the slowing down lap will just have to do. Nice one Greg.

A tale of two GPs

How different could two events be. Speedway GP...Exciting races, overtaking, a fairly suprising winners, incidents, dubious decisions (exactly how did Rickardsson avoid being excluded - twice!) - a great way to spend a Saturday evening.

And then this past weekend the F1 GP.....yawwwwnnnn....i gave up after the first 20 laps and did something more interesting like grouting the kitchen tiles.

Give Ferrari credit - they're giving Schumi a car he can't lose with and this weekend Button just wasn't at the races. But I'm hopeful he'll put Mikey under pressure again like at Imola.

But after this weekend who'll be watching......
