New Year's Honours

Channel TV Local story here so all american's can just read ahead....
Is the queen having a laugh if Colin Powell gets something for services to the community!!??! Which bit of the community was she thinking of? The financial community? The business community? Certainly not the ordinary man-in-the-street part of the community above whom he continues to wave taxes whilst avoiding taxing the very very rich of the island.

World sends help for tsunami victims

Well most of the world anyway, although some of the world isnt trying very hard. For example, Britain manages to pledge something like £25million to date - about £1 per person I understand. So, could someone perhaps explain why the United States has only managed to get together 35 million dollars - I could be cynical and suggest that not enough US people are involved but I wont....yet.

Why the silence....

In the unlikely event anyone else reads this, I've gone all quiet since i've been in Orlando for a couple of weeks. Coming soon, in a semi-occasional series (i.e. when there's nothing happening and the world but i still feel the need to type some nonsense) I will be regaling stories of all things American. And wont that be exciting for us all...

Boring Xmas Number One Shocker

Such a dreadful record...whoever arranged the music for this must have been really badly affected by the pictures from Sudan. I'll be charitable and say that they must have been badly affected by something cos it's absolutely appalling. Laughable rapping and noticably poor singing mark out yet another dire Xmas number 1. Maybe Bob the Builder wasnt all that bad.......
