Hodgson comes second in Daytona

BBC SPORT Sadly I didn't get to see the race, but seems like a pretty good effort by Hodgson. Mat Mladin has been the class of the field for the past few years, so to finish second to him is a fine achievement and no doubt a sign of good things to come. Moto GP teams! You could have had this man signed up and now you've missed out - your loss....

IndyCar Series - Wheldon wins!

IndyCar Series - official site Not a bad Indycar (formerly IRL) race last night. Obviously great to see Dan Wheldon getting off to a dominant start. It reminded me of a lot of races last year when he was clearly the class of the field by a mile - although he still only won 3 last year and one of those was a touch lucky. But credit where its due - it was a great win.

Low-light was an 8 car incident which took out much of the field. Kosuke Matsuura last control on a restart, largely as a result of trying to run 3 wide in the marbles on the outside on cold tyres. He really didnt stand a chance, but probably shouldnt have been there anyway.

Particularly a shame to see Danica Patrick's race ruined although again her attempt to escape the carnage by diving low and flooring the throttle was perhaps a touch ill advised.

The battle for second was fun too, with just two thousandths of a second splitting the 2nd to 4th placed cars. All in all a good start to the season.

F1 - Race Incidents from Melbourne

GrandPrix.com I'll be honest and say I actually havent seen yesterday's GP. While it was great to see a different winner, somehow I get the feeling I did not miss all that much. Ok watching Heidfeld and Michael S hit each other would have been quite funny, but I'm not getting the impression it was a thriller.

Sad to see BAR nowhere near the pace, and good to see Ferrari really not looking at their best. Maybe with a regular grid rather than the mixed up one we had for this race it might be different - have to wait and see I think.

Australian GP Qualifying

GrandPrix.com > Australian GP > Qualifying Session 1 Report I had to laugh when I saw the results from Q1 on Saturday. For one thing, it was nice of the weather to make sure that the grid was more or less fixed for the second aggregate session on Sunday morning. Considering that i think 1 TV station anywhere in the world was covering it live I guess no-one missed much.

2005 F1

GrandPrix.com > News > Dear Jean Great link this one.
I knew it all along - nothing to see this year. Might as well go watch Moto GP.
