Sebring ALMS

BBC SPORT | Motorsport | McNish sets Sebring pace
This story isnt particularly exciting being only about a moderately obscure Sports Car race, but it got me thinking - why are British drivers so successful in Sports Cars. The answer came to me quite quickly - because they can't get a budget to run at the level of racing they deserve. While the Pantanos, Baumgartners and Kliens of this world have multi-million dollar budgets behind them, the Brits struggle to find any cash at all and so cant get the drives they deserve.

Sports cars however seem to have no end of generous benefactors willing to recruit quality racers and little or no cost simply so that they can run competitively in these races - and the Brits tend to be the best drivers available. Cant say I'll be watching the sports car this weekend, but good luck to our boys anyway.
